Dave

A Current River resident, Dave is a husband and a father to two incredible girls. In his own words, he is “an aging daredevil who is slowly settling down”, who is leaning into being a new laid back and down to earth version of himself.

His favourite spot in Thunder Bay is Calico Coffeehouse - “great coffee, friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, to sit and chat with a friend or to just enjoy a great cup of coffee.”

It’s hard to chose what makes Thunder Bay special; whether it’s the landscapes in every direction, the amount of amazing local businesses that line our streets, or the ever growing amount of outdoor activities to partake in, the city has someone special for everyone. “I like that whatever direction you drive, you’ll find a place to hike, quad, swim, fish, camp, or hunt, and most of the time, the drive is only 15 mins.”

Keeping his money locally is a priority for Dave, shopping local whenever possible. His wife being a local business owner herself, he understands the importance of supporting the community.

The last year has shown him that family and friends are the most important thing in life and that the inability to see them and spend quality time face to face has been hard.

The thrill seeker in Dave is still alive and well when choosing his one (or more) items he couldn’t live without. He quotes his ever growing collection of machinery - “I really enjoy getting outside, whether it’s a trail on my quad, or jumping some big waves on Lake Superior on my seadoo.”
