Aaron

Aaron was born in Dryden and moved to the city for college. After meeting and marrying his now wife, they both have decided to call Thunder Bay home.  He seems himself as an entertainer at the end of the day, akin to Bert from Mary Poppins and his many instruments to which he uses to entertain. From just 8 years old in his first role in a local play, he caught the performing bug and never felt more at home than on a stage. Now a musician, a host, and a stand up comedian, Aaron likes to partake in any venture that puts smiles on peoples’ faces.

He credits his father, who was also a musician, for his ease on stage. Whether it was simply from growing up around another performer or perhaps those karate lessons as a kid, Aaron is grateful to his parents who listened to the advice of guiding and supporting him in the arts from a young age.

What Aaron first fell in love with when he moved here was the local music scene. With diverse styles and being welcomed with open arms, he immediately felt at home. He believes regardless of what your passion is, there is a community here for you. It’s no surprise that one of his favourite spots is Black Pirates Pub, where entertainers were able to start and grow their crafts over the years. It is that support from the community in which connects Aaron to the people, whether it be when he was playing with his band, hosting, or trying for a few laughs as a comic – “I have got the chance to perform at various events around town, and it always amazes me the support that Thunder Bay holds. And I feel most connected when I get to see the community out in droves supporting whatever event it is that we would be performing at.”

He also gives a special shoutout to La Casa Nostra, for a great meal and a great soundtrack. “I miss that place, the awesome staff...and Italian Elvis.”

Aaron has been able to learn how adaptable he is during this last year. While the stages may be closed for the time being, he has been able to carve out a path of his own. “I started an online live show called The Pandemic Party Variety Show which you can find with various comedians, Thunder Bay musicians and friends monthly… I have hosted "busking in your backyard" a few times this past year which is put on by Kontrol Media.”

To answer the “one physical item” he couldn’t live without.. well, we’ll quote him in full: “Can I call my wife a physical Item without getting in trouble? Lol. Ok even if i get in trouble...I am saying my wife. She is my favorite person. My center. My best friend. My audience before the audience. She is my favorite. My wife, final answer.”

We can’t write that better than that.
